H-500 is a dietary supplement manufactured in the USA and sold by Coral Club in bottles of 120 capsules. Each capsule contains 300 mg of a proprietary blend of potassium citrate, magnesium citrate, potassium ascorbate, silicon dioxide and sodium borate. The label directs one capsule twice a day, so a bottle lasts 60 days.
Coral Club states that H-500 provides antioxidant support that helps protect cells from oxidative stress, supports post-workout recovery and muscle tone, and helps maintain energy levels and physical and mental performance.*
Potassium and magnesium appear as citrates, a salt form bound to citric acid. Potassium ascorbate is a buffered form of vitamin C, so the blend also supplies some vitamin C. Sodium borate is a source of the trace element boron, and silicon dioxide is silica.
A proprietary blend lists its total weight but not the amount of each ingredient, and the US card gives no Daily Value for any of them. The European label for the same product states that two capsules provide 55.6 mg of potassium and 22.8 mg of magnesium. Those are small amounts: about 1% of the potassium Daily Value and about 5% of the magnesium Daily Value in the US.
Coral Club describes H-500 as helping the body manage lactic acid in muscles after exercise and helping maintain the body's natural pH balance.* Blood pH is held within a narrow range by the lungs and kidneys, and no supplement changes that range in a healthy person. Citrate salts are alkalizing in the sense that they are metabolized to bicarbonate, which is why potassium citrate is studied in connection with urine chemistry.
In other markets Coral Club presents H-500 as a source of "active hydrogen." The US supplement facts panel declares no hydrogen or hydride, so this page describes only the ingredients on the panel.
Anyone pregnant or nursing should consult a healthcare practitioner before use, as the card advises. People with reduced kidney function, or taking medicines that raise potassium levels such as ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers or potassium-sparing diuretics, should ask a physician before taking a supplement that contains potassium, even in modest amounts.
The card contradicts itself on the capsule. Its product notes say "Capsules made from beef gelatin," while the supplement facts panel lists a capsule of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (a plant-derived material) and water. If the capsule material matters to you, check the label on your bottle. Coral Club labels H-500 gluten free and free of soy.

The card does not state the amount of each ingredient in the blend. The European label for the same product lists 55.6 mg of potassium and 22.8 mg of magnesium per two capsules. The "Pack includes" field on the US card names boron where the panel names sodium borate, which is the compound that supplies it.

A bottle of 120 capsules lasts 60 days. The card does not say whether to take the capsules with a meal. Do not exceed two capsules a day unless advised by a physician.
H-500 adds potassium, magnesium and a small, unstated amount of vitamin C. If you also take a multivitamin, a magnesium product or an electrolyte drink, add up the potassium and magnesium from all of them. For magnesium from supplements, the adult upper intake level is 350 mg a day.
