Visi-Prime is a dietary supplement for eye health in softgel form, made in Germany for Coral Club. One bottle holds 30 softgels and the directions are one capsule daily. Coral Club states that the formula supports eye health and the maintenance of visual performance, and that its omega-3 PUFAs, riboflavin, vitamin E, zinc, lutein and zeaxanthin help protect the eyes from oxidative stress and support overall visual function.*
What is in one softgel
Each capsule carries 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin — the two carotenoids that make up the macular pigment — together with 500 mg of fish oil providing 300 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, of which 250 mg DHA and 30 mg EPA. Riboflavin, vitamin E and zinc complete the formula. Exact amounts and % Daily Values are in the Composition tab.
The 10:2 ratio of lutein to zeaxanthin is the one used in the AREDS2 trial, which is listed under Research. That trial studied people with age-related macular degeneration, not screen users, and Visi-Prime itself has not been studied as a finished product.
Why the carotenoids sit in an oil base
Lutein and zeaxanthin are fat-soluble, and so are vitamin E and the omega-3 fatty acids. Coral Club puts them in a fish oil base inside a softgel rather than in a dry tablet, which keeps the fat-soluble components in a lipid carrier from the start. Vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant in the oil itself.
DHA and EPA
The fish oil in Visi-Prime is DHA-dominant: 250 mg DHA against 30 mg EPA per capsule. DHA is the fatty acid most concentrated in the retina. Coral Club links the omega-3 content with eye moisture balance and inflammatory response support.*
Riboflavin and zinc
One capsule covers 108% of the Daily Value for riboflavin and 91% for zinc. Both amounts are high enough to count if you already take a multivitamin: long-term zinc intake above the upper limit can interfere with copper status, so add up what you take across products.
Capsule shell and allergens
The shell is beef gelatin with glycerine, mono- and diglycerides, purified water and St. John's bread flour (carob). The product is therefore not vegetarian or vegan. It contains fish. Coral Club labels it gluten free.

Shelf life is 2 years. Keep out of reach of children and store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 77°F (25°C).

Directions
Take one capsule daily. Swallow the softgel whole with water. A meal containing some fat is a practical moment for it, because lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin E and the omega-3 fatty acids are all fat-soluble, though the capsule already supplies its own oil base.
Carotenoids build up in the macular pigment slowly; in published studies measurable changes took months rather than days. A bottle of 30 covers one month at the directed serving.

- Fish allergy: do not use — the capsule is built on fish oil.
- Blood thinners: higher omega-3 intakes can add to their effect; consult a physician, and mention the supplement before surgery.

- Do not exceed the directed serving.

Visi-Prime has not been studied as a finished product. The sources below concern its carotenoids and the lutein–zeaxanthin combination used with omega-3 fatty acids, including the AREDS2 randomized trial and two reviews of lutein and zeaxanthin in eye health.
