Lipostick Fit

Lipostick Fit is a liquid dietary supplement manufactured in Taiwan and packed in single-serving 15 ml sticks. Each stick contains 5,000 mg of fermented tangerine peel, 300 mg of noni fruit juice, 50 mg of L-carnitine, 26 mg of green tea leaf extract, 5 mg of green coffee bean extract, and 1 mg each of black pepper fruit extract and burdock root powder. Adults take one or two sticks a day, so a box of 15 sticks lasts 7 to 15 days.

Coral Club states that Lipostick Fit helps support healthy metabolism and energy production, supports the metabolic processes involved in using fat when combined with a balanced diet and regular physical activity, and supports appetite balance, restful sleep and daily vitality.*

What the ingredients are

Tangerine peel is the main ingredient by far. Coral Club describes it as a patented tangerine flavonoid complex supplying nobiletin and hesperidin, flavonoids found in citrus peel; the card does not state how much of either the stick contains.

Noni is a tropical fruit traditionally used in Polynesia. L-carnitine is a compound the body makes itself and uses to carry fatty acids into mitochondria. Green tea extract supplies polyphenols, and green coffee bean extract supplies chlorogenic acids, which Coral Club links to carbohydrate and fat metabolism and to maintaining blood glucose levels already within the normal range.* Black pepper extract is marketed as BioPerine® and is included to support absorption of the other ingredients.*

"Liposomal" and the other ingredients

Coral Club calls the formula liposomal. The ingredient that makes this possible is lecithin, a phospholipid that can form small fat-based capsules around other compounds; the card does not describe the particle size or process. The drink is sweetened with apple juice concentrate, erythritol and steviol glycosides, and flavored with natural orange and lemon flavors.

Weight management in perspective

Coral Club positions Lipostick Fit alongside diet and exercise rather than instead of them, and the card says so directly. No published study has tested this product. Meta-analyses of L-carnitine and of green coffee extract report modest effects on body weight, but the trials used amounts many times higher than the 50 mg of L-carnitine and 5 mg of green coffee extract in one stick.

The directions are written for adults. New York law restricts the sale of dietary supplements for weight loss to people under 18.

Who should check first

The card recommends consulting a doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or intolerant to any ingredient. The drink contains soy lecithin. Erythritol can have a laxative effect when too much is taken, so staying within two sticks a day matters. Green tea and green coffee extracts can contain some caffeine, though the card gives no figure; the amounts of both extracts in one stick are small.

Dietary notes and storage

Coral Club labels Lipostick Fit gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. It contains soy. Shelf life is 2 years from the date of production. Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 77°F (25°C), out of reach of children.
